Introducing Mr Bao’s Dragon Oil

From day one, Joe aka Daddy Bao (our co-founder Frank’s dad) used to make all our chilli oil for us to serve alongside our dumplings, using his own recipe that he’d developed over many years.

As we grew bigger and busier and opened Daddy Bao and Master Bao this became a pretty huge job and we couldn’t ask him to spend 3 hours a day keeping up with our demand.

So now we make our chilli oil in house at each of our restaurants, following the basis of his recipe but with couple of our own additions including fermented black beans and garlic. We’ve tweaked and tasted the blend many, many times but like to think that we’ve perfected the balance of salt, garlic and heat achieved from a combination of Sichuan and Korean chilli flakes.

We’ve had constant requests to bottle up this much-loved chilli oil and now your requests have finally been answered – introducing our house made Dragon Oil. Available now via House Special for that lip tingling goodness to enjoy from home.
