In 2014 two guys cycle endlessly around Peckham looking for a disused shop to turn a post-it note dream into a bao restaurant reality. Once up and running Mr Bao meant the world to us and turns out, the world to others too… which got us thinking, how much more can restaurants mean to people?
Our philosophy had always been based around people, and food - naturally, but maybe creating a little home from home could be something more powerful. We’ll always continue learning what that means as it is always changing, but we know that restaurants can become part of the fabric of communities, and that means a lot to us, so we’ll always keep it local, personal and for the people.
Now with a small family of sites, we want to make our little restaurant group a regular fixture in busy Londoner’s lives. We’re not growing for growth’s sake, but if more people can enjoy our delicious food then great!
